Academy Sports + Outdoors Opens 11 New Stores in Q3

Academy Sports + Outdoors announced it has opened two new stores in St. Clairsville, Ohio and Kerrville, Texas, with nine additional locations opening this quarter across Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, and Texas. The company has opened seven stores in 2026 and plans to open 20 to 25 total new locations this fiscal year.

Academy also committed $65,000 in local donations to support more than 200 children in the new store communities. The expansion is part of the retailer's broader strategy to deepen its footprint in underserved markets and reinforce its position as a destination for outdoor, recreation, and sporting goods.
