Autodesk Makes an AI Ad About People Instead

The design software company's new global brand campaign, made with Giant Spoon, points the camera at the 300 million people using the tools rather than at the tools themselves.

Autodesk Makes an AI Ad About People Instead

Technology advertising in 2026 has one setting: the model, the demo, the inevitability. Autodesk just turned the camera around.

The company launched "The World Is Yours for the Making," a global brand campaign built around the architects, engineers, builders, designers, manufacturers, and filmmakers who use its software. The stated audience size is close to 300 million people who design, make, and operate the places, products, and stories in everyday life, which is a far more useful brand asset than a feature list.

The 60-second film was created with Giant Spoon and directed by self-taught filmmaker Salomon Ligthelm. It was produced using Autodesk Flow Studio, Maya, and Flame, a choice that lets the work demonstrate the product without ever pausing to explain it.

The campaign rolls out across Autodesk channels worldwide and debuted on television in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, with industry-specific films scheduled over the coming months. That structure matters for a company selling into wildly different verticals: one emotional platform on top, sector proof underneath.

The strategic bet is that the AI conversation has become saturated enough that capability is no longer a differentiator, and agency is. Everyone is showing what the software can do. Very few are showing who decides what gets made with it.

It is also a defensive move dressed as a warm one. When a category's advertising all sounds the same, the brand that talks about its users instead of its technology gets to own the only remaining open position.
