CreatorOS Retires Its Own Name and Answers to Nutcake Now

Naming a company is hard. Renaming one is harder, which is presumably why CreatorOS spent three months test-driving its new identity in public before committing to it. On Tuesday the London firm announced it is now Nutcake, folding its platform, its data and its AI assistant — which has carried the Nutcake name since June — under one label.

The rebrand unifies a business that had quietly split into two identities: CreatorOS, the six-year-old infrastructure that has powered creator campaigns for McDonald's, Three, Crocs, Subway and Channel 4, and Nutcake, the agentic AI layer launched in June to automate everything from creator discovery to payments.

The company arrives at its new name with real numbers. Its sponsored-post dataset has grown past 800,000 posts, its payout rails run across 33 countries, and it is selling a paid pre-testing package priced at £30,000 — a signal that creator marketing's Wild West era is being replaced by procurement-grade tooling with procurement-grade pricing.

There is a logic to picking the weird name over the sensible one. "CreatorOS" described a category that now has dozens of occupants; "Nutcake" describes nothing, which means the company gets to define it. In a market where every competitor sounds like a SaaS name generator, memorability is the scarcest asset.

The risk is equally clear: the CreatorOS name carried six years of enterprise trust, and the buyers signing £30,000 checks are not known for their love of whimsy. Nutcake is betting that in 2026, a distinctive name with strong data beats a descriptive name with the same data. The whole industry will get to watch whether that's true.
