Dare Iced Coffee Goes After Australia's Favourite Excuse

Energy drinks sell adrenaline. Dare Iced Coffee is selling something less glamorous and far more useful: finishing things.

The Australian brand unveiled "Done It With Dare," a new platform created by Thinkerbell that takes aim at procrastination — specifically the local habit of spending more time discussing how time-poor you are than actually clearing the list.

The insight lands because it is unflattering. Most functional beverage advertising flatters the drinker as an athlete or a hustler; this one casts them as someone stalling in the driveway with a phone in hand. That recognition is what gives a two-dollar coffee a reason to exist beyond caffeine content.

It also stakes out territory neither the coffee chains nor the energy category own. Red Bull has extremity, Starbucks has ritual, and iced coffee has mostly had convenience. Attaching the brand to completion — the small satisfying end of a task — is a more durable claim than another jolt of alertness.

The platform's value will show in longevity. "Done It With Dare" is built to be a signature line rather than a season, which means the work has to keep finding new versions of the same stall. Australian audiences forgive repetition. They do not forgive smugness.
