FC Barcelona Hands Tyler, the Creator the Keys to Its El Clásico Kit, and Lets Him Keep Them
GOLF WANG's yellow logo is taking over Barça's shirt for one match, and Spotify just gave an artist full creative control of a kit launch for the first time.
FC Barcelona unveiled a special El Clásico kit built in collaboration with Tyler, the Creator's streetwear label, GOLF WANG, with the brand's yellow "GOLF" wordmark splashed across the front in place of the usual sponsor treatment. The jerseys debuted Thursday, and Barça will wear them against Real Madrid on October 25, with the women's team breaking them in a day earlier against Granada.
The collaboration runs through Spotify's shirt sponsorship, which has featured a musician's logo on Barça's El Clásico kit twice a season since 2022, with past collaborators including Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott, Rosalía, and Drake. This time, Spotify and Barça gave an artist full creative control of the entire launch campaign for the first time. GOLF WANG said the partnership "sets a new benchmark for collaboration across sports, music and fashion," while Spotify's senior vice president of marketing and partnerships, Marc Hazan, called it "one of our most exciting collaborations with FC Barcelona yet."
The merch tier is where it gets serious: 1,899 limited-edition matchday-quality jerseys are selling for €499.99 each through Barça's online store, while 22 jerseys signed by winning lineup members and 11 signed by Tyler himself go for €2,999.99 apiece. A full range of hoodies, jackets, and accessories rounds out the drop, and KONAMI eFootball players can equip the kit in-game starting October 23.
