Lululemon and GANNI Put Leg Warmers Back in the Studio, and Jennifer Beals Right Alongside Them
The Danish label's leopard print meets Lululemon's technical fabric in a 22-piece capsule built for people who treat barre class like a runway.
Lululemon and Copenhagen label GANNI have launched a 22-piece activewear collection inspired by 1980s dance films, blending Lululemon's technical fabrics with GANNI's signature leopard print and bold color pairings. The line reworks familiar Lululemon silhouettes like the Define Jacket alongside new, dance-specific pieces: leg warmers, boleros, and headbands finished with playful ruffle details that are built to move from the studio to the street without losing function.
The collection launched October 15 on both brands' websites, backed by a campaign called "Joy Is a Power Move," starring actress Jennifer Beals and singer-dancer METTE. Shot inside a dance studio, the campaign leans into movement as a form of self-expression rather than a straight product showcase, a fitting choice given Beals's own history with 1980s dance cinema.
The pairing is an unusual one on paper: a performance-wear giant known for technical precision teaming up with a fashion label built on irreverence and print. But it's also an increasingly familiar move for Lululemon, which has leaned on outside collaborators to keep its activewear feeling like fashion rather than just gym gear.
