George at Asda Tells the High Street: If You Know, You Know
Asda's fashion label hands Lucky Generals creative across both home and fashion for the first time, repositioning George as the place where style and value stop being enemies.

Supermarket fashion has spent decades apologizing for itself. George at Asda's new campaign, unveiled Tuesday, stops apologizing. "If You Know, You Know" repositions the label as a destination where style and value exist together — and says it with the quiet confidence of an in-joke rather than a price shout.
The work comes from Lucky Generals and marks a structural first: a single agency leading creative across both George's home and fashion lines. That consolidation matters. Supermarket clothing brands have historically treated homeware and apparel as separate fiefdoms with separate briefs, which is exactly why so few of them feel like brands at all.
The timing is competitive, not coincidental. Britain's supermarket fashion war has escalated sharply, with every major grocer trying to convince shoppers that the clothing rail next to the produce aisle deserves a proper look. George's answer is to lean into the knowing shopper — the one who already buys the £18 dress and enjoys telling people where it's from only after the compliment lands.
"If You Know, You Know" is a title that doubles as a strategy: it flatters existing customers as insiders and dares everyone else to catch up. For a value brand, that's a smarter frame than luxury cosplay, and a much harder one for rivals to copy without looking like they're chasing.
Whether one campaign can shift supermarket fashion's reputation ceiling is an open question. But giving one agency the whole house, and one idea the whole brand, is the first time George has behaved like it believes its own pitch.
