HYROX changes hands, and its founders stay in charge
An L Catterton-led consortium is buying a majority stake from Infront Sports & Media, with founders Christian Toetzke and Moritz Fuerste regaining majority control.

A consortium led by L Catterton is buying a majority stake in HYROX from Infront Sports & Media, and founders Christian Toetzke and Moritz Fuerste are regaining majority control, according to Kirkland & Ellis, which advised the founders. The announcement came September 8.
The press release gives no valuation. Other coverage cites about $700 million, and that figure should be treated as reported and not confirmed.
HYROX launched in 2017 and has turned a standardized race into a category with its own sponsors, calendar, and fans. A growth-focused investor and founders back at the wheel is a familiar setup for a brand that wants to scale without losing what made it feel like a movement. What comes next is the test of whether a fitness race can grow like a league.
