King Koil spells out what it sells
The mattress maker introduced a new global identity as King Koil Mattress Co. and named Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor its brand ambassador in India.

Sometimes a rebrand is a revolution. Sometimes it's just a label on the door. King Koil launched a new global identity this week that renames the business King Koil Mattress Co. — a move so literal it loops back around to clever.
In a premium mattress market crowded with vague wellness brands, putting "Mattress Co." in the name makes the category and the expertise instantly unambiguous. The new logo and identity are rolling out across King Koil markets worldwide, not as a regional exercise, which gives the change actual weight.
India gets the loudest version of the launch. The brand named Janhvi Kapoor as its new brand ambassador, betting on the Bollywood star as sleep shifts from a utility purchase to a premium lifestyle conversation — less about hours in bed, more about how well you actually sleep.
The timing tracks with the category's direction. Premiumization is reshaping sleep the way it reshaped skincare and supplements, and legacy players like King Koil — a brand with more than a century of history — are racing to look intentional rather than inherited, against direct-to-consumer challengers like Casper.
The identity work itself is disciplined: same expertise, clearer expression. No manifesto, no purpose-washing, just a name that finally answers the question on the sign. In a week full of brands explaining themselves, there's something refreshing about one that simply says what it is.
