Madewell Puts Cazzie David on Denim Duty
The comedian and writer fronts Madewell's Fall 2026 campaign as its self-appointed denim expert, complete with a curated capsule collection and a hotline for jean emergencies.

Madewell built its Fall 2026 campaign around Cazzie David, casting the comedian and writer as, in the campaign's own words, "the denim expert you didn't know you needed." The video, which David co-wrote with her longtime writing partner Elisa Kalani, leans into her own persona rather than a straight fashion pitch, pairing her deadpan delivery with the brand's usual denim-first styling.
The tie-in goes past the ad. A curated capsule collection, spanning jeans in Low-Rise Loose, Low-Rise Slim, Low-Slung Baggy, and Relaxed Bootcut fits, alongside sweaters, tees, and accessories, is live now at Madewell.com and in stores. Customers with fit questions can call a "denim hotline," 1-844-DENIM55, a gimmick that turns David's opinionated persona into an actual customer-service channel rather than just a tagline.
David's pitch, unsurprisingly, sounds like her writing: "You'll just know. They'll lift you up. You'll reach for them every day, and miss them when they're not around," she says of finding the right pair. It is a small, well-targeted bet: a comedy voice with a built-in audience, doing double duty as spokesperson and stylist, for a brand whose whole identity already rests on knowing denim better than the competition.
