Nordstrom Gives Its Holiday Mascot a Sidekick and Its App an AI Stylist
FAO Schwarz toys in every store, an AI-powered Request a Look feature, and a David Bowie tribute shop are all part of Nordstrom's pitch for your holiday dollars this year.

Nordstrom is going all-in on the holidays for its 125th anniversary, expanding its FAO Schwarz partnership to feature toys at every store location and rolling out a redesigned app with an in-store interactive map, an AI-powered "Request a Look" feature for personalized styling, and an expanded gift guide covering more than 1,000 items. Same-day beauty delivery is now live in more than 15 markets, including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Miami.
The retailer also reimagined its mascot, Nordy, giving him a new sidekick named Disco, and is honoring what would have been David Bowie's 80th birthday with "Bowie80," an immersive shop-in-shop program launching in November featuring limited-edition collections from AllSaints, Barbour, and Marc Jacobs. FAO Schwarz, for its part, just opened an Amazon storefront, so Nordstrom's flagship toy partner is also now shopping around.
