Texas Capital Buys Its Way Onto All 17 of SMU's Jerseys

Texas Capital, the Dallas-based bank, is putting its patch on uniforms across all 17 of SMU's athletic programs under a new multiyear partnership. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal moved fast: talks accelerated after an earlier field sponsorship between the two, and the jersey agreement came together in what the university described as roughly one to two weeks.

The partnership goes beyond the patch. SMU and Texas Capital are also building out internships, job opportunities, and financial literacy programming aimed at helping athletes manage their college earnings, tying into SMU's existing "Live After Ball" program. Texas Capital also said it is interested in hiring more SMU graduates and doing more classroom engagement. SMU says undergraduate applications are up 65% since it joined the ACC two years ago, the kind of number that makes a bank want its logo on a few hundred more jerseys.
