Sun Pharma and Christian Siriano restyle hair regrowth
Regrowth Restyled pairs a pharma brand with a fashion designer to reframe severe alopecia areata as a story about self-expression.
Pharma marketing and New York Fashion Week rarely share a sentence, let alone a runway. Sun Pharma changed that this week with Regrowth Restyled, an awareness campaign for severe alopecia areata created with fashion designer Christian Siriano.
The centerpiece is a one-of-a-kind wearable garment Siriano designed to embody the hair regrowth journey, unveiled September 17, just after New York Fashion Week and timed to Alopecia Areata Awareness Month. The campaign encourages adults living with the autoimmune condition, which causes unpredictable hair loss, to learn more about treatment options, including Sun Pharma's LEQSELVI.
"As a designer, I've always believed style is a form of self-expression, and for adults living with severe alopecia areata, hair loss can complicate that expression in ways that go far beyond appearance," Siriano said in the announcement.
The approach reflects a broader shift in healthcare marketing: away from clinical before-and-after imagery and toward culture, identity, and the patient as a whole person. A garment cannot regrow hair, but it can reframe what confidence looks like while it does.
For Sun Pharma, the collaboration buys something no standard disease-awareness spot can: a place in the fashion conversation, where the audience for a message about self-expression is already listening.
