Vi Rebrands With a 3D Sphere and India's Most Bankable Face
A new logo, a Shah Rukh Khan teaser and a promise: "Vi badal raha hai." The identity refresh is the visible part of a much larger repair job.

Vi unveiled a new brand identity on Monday, fronted by a Shah Rukh Khan campaign teaser and a line doing a lot of work: "Vi badal raha hai... tayaar rahiye" — Vi is changing, be ready.
The new mark replaces the flat wordmark with a 3D sphere the operator describes as a signal of optimism and forward momentum. The company says the refresh is the first step in a broader transformation, with new launches, campaigns and customer-experience changes to follow.
Sequencing is the interesting choice. Telecom brands usually ship the network upgrade and then dress it; Vi is dressing first and asking for patience. That only works with a guarantor, which is what Khan is — the most reliable trust transfer available in the Indian market, and a deliberate counterweight to years of subscriber loss against Reliance Jio and Airtel.
The risk is obvious and the brand has named it itself. A rebrand that promises change sets a clock running. If call quality and data coverage do not visibly improve inside the next few quarters, the sphere becomes shorthand for the gap between advertising and experience — and Khan's endorsement gets read as the proof that the product could not speak for itself.
Done well, though, this is how a challenger buys attention it cannot afford to buy twice. The identity is not the transformation. It is the receipt the company is asking customers to hold onto.
