Every fashion retailer says it sells confidence. Zalando has decided to sell the two minutes before you have any.

The German retailer's Autumn/Winter 2026 campaign, "Inner Voices," launched Saturday with global brand ambassador Lily Collins alongside Bella Freud and Nicky Campbell. The films dramatise the running commentary that accompanies choosing an outfit, then let the wearer win the argument.

Strategically it is a sharp piece of positioning. Zalando does not design the clothes it sells, so its brand has to live in the decision rather than the product. Owning the moment of doubt puts the platform inside a job to be done that no single label can claim, and it gives the retailer something rare in e-commerce advertising: a reason to be watched rather than skipped.

The casting reinforces it. A film actor, a designer with a cult following and a broadcaster read as three different kinds of taste authority, which lets the campaign span markets without collapsing into one celebrity's audience.

Cinematic wit is expensive, and platform brands usually spend that money on performance media instead. "Inner Voices" is a wager that the top of the funnel is where fashion loyalty is actually made.
