Serruya Private Equity Hands the Body Shop to the Woman Who Built Nudestix
Jenny Frankel takes over retail strategy and brand growth across SPE's portfolio, with the 1976 beauty brand as her marquee assignment.

Serruya Private Equity has appointed Jenny Frankel to lead The Body Shop and to support retail strategy and brand growth across the rest of its portfolio. Frankel spent more than 25 years in prestige beauty before this, most notably as the founder behind Nudestix, and SPE is betting that experience in vegan, cruelty-free beauty translates directly to a brand that built its name on similar ground decades earlier.
"We are very pleased to welcome Jenny to the SPE team," said Michael Serruya, the firm's managing director, in a statement that reads less like a formality and more like a company that knows exactly what it is hoping this hire fixes.
SPE is a Markham, Ontario-based, family-owned investment group that has been building consumer brands since 1986, and The Body Shop is far from its only concept: the portfolio includes Yogen Fruz, Pinkberry, Swensen's, Sprinkles, Cha Cha Matcha, and Bonchon, spanning more than 3,000 franchise locations across 50 countries. Frankel's job is to make sure that scale does not come at the cost of the kind of brand specificity that made Nudestix, and The Body Shop before it, work in the first place.
