Tractor Supply Poaches Home Depot's Tech Chief to Modernize the Farm Aisle
Fahim Siddiqui spent three years running Home Depot's technology organization. Now he's doing the same job for a retailer built on overalls and livestock feed.

Tractor Supply Company named Fahim Siddiqui its new executive vice president and chief technology and digital officer, hiring him away from The Home Depot, where he served as chief information officer from 2022 to 2025 after joining the home-improvement giant in 2018. He has also held senior technology roles at Staples, Vidyo, and Intralinks, giving him more than 30 years in the field. He starts this week, reporting directly to president and CEO Hal Lawton.
Siddiqui will oversee Tractor Supply's enterprise technology and digital organization, including digital infrastructure, business applications, digital commerce, and cybersecurity, as the retailer leans harder into AI for things like last-mile delivery efficiency and delivery-time estimates. Lawton called him a combination of "technical expertise, retail knowledge and business leadership," which is corporate-speak for "he's done this exact job at a much bigger company already."
A rural retailer hiring a big-box tech chief is a tell: Tractor Supply isn't just digitizing checkout, it is trying to out-tech the mall. Whether farm-and-ranch customers want a slicker app is a separate question from whether the company needed a leader who already knows how to build one.
