Converse and Vaquera dropped the VX-1 Heel on October 27, their third collaboration and the one that finally commits to an actual heel. The silhouette takes Converse's archived CS Pro-1 skate shoe and rebuilds it as a kitten heel, with a perforated suede upper, a padded mesh tongue, wide laces threaded through molded eyelet covers, Star Chevron branding, a co-branded rubber tongue label, translucent heel detailing, and a gum rubber outsole.

Grammy winner Kim Petras fronts the campaign, photographed inside a miniature house in an exaggerated-scale shoot built around the idea of refusing to be boxed in, which is a fairly on-brand metaphor for a skate shoe that now balances on a heel. The shoe launched simultaneously on Converse's and Vaquera's websites, with no price disclosed.

This is the pair's second act. Converse and Vaquera first teamed up in 2025 on the XXXHI and XHI Slouch Wedge, reworking the Chuck Taylor into deliberately unstable, slouchy silhouettes. The VX-1 Heel keeps pushing the same joke: Vaquera's whole design language is about distorting familiar archetypes until they stop making sense, and a skate shoe that can't skate is about as distorted as it gets.
