Barbour and Farm Rio Reunite for a Third Collection, and the Tartan Finally Goes Tropical

Barbour and Farm Rio are back for round three. The brands launch "Tropical Greenhouse," a Pre-Spring/Summer 2027 collection, globally on October 30 at Barbour.com, FarmRio.com, and select retail partners. The range spans showerproof and quilted outerwear, reversible liners, overshirts, knitwear, skirts, dresses, and accessories, all carrying dual-branded finishes.

The real story is what Farm Rio does to Barbour's tartan. The Rio-based label reworks the pattern Barbour spent last year dedicating an entire Carnaby Street pop-up to into two exclusive prints: a classic brown-and-blue sett, and a second that folds tropical florals and banana-leaf accents directly into the weave. Floral-lined interiors and intricate trims carry the mashup through to the garments' underside, so the joke is still there even when the jacket's zipped shut.

This is the pairing's third outing since it debuted in September 2025 with a 24-piece launch fronted by Immy Waterhouse, followed by a Spring/Summer 2026 collection in April that leaned on Farm Rio's dress silhouettes and a softer take on Barbour's quilted jacket. Three collections in roughly 14 months is no longer a stunt collab, it is a standing product line with its own release calendar.

For Barbour, a brand built on waxed-cotton stoicism and more than 130 years of English countryside restraint, letting a Brazilian label keep redrawing its most identity-coded pattern is a bet that heritage sells better when it is willing to be interrupted. For Farm Rio, borrowing that much British credibility is a fast lane into wardrobes that still file its prints under vacation rather than everyday. Tropical Greenhouse is both brands making that same bet again, louder.
