Nike's $95 "Neuroscience" Slide Keeps Selling Out, So It Keeps Getting Restocked
The Mind 001 restocks again Nov. 5, its fourth U.S. release since August. Months after launch, it still resells near double retail, a strange way to describe a supply problem.

Nike is restocking the Mind 001 slide again, with another release lined up for Nov. 5, the shoe's fourth U.S. restock since August after limited runs on Aug. 20, Oct. 1, and Oct. 15 each sold out inside the drop window. The $95 mule (women's runs $120) launched in January and has not had a quiet moment since.
The pitch has never been about comfort alone. Mind 001 was built by Nike's in-house Mind Science Department and is pitched as neuroscience rather than cushioning: 22 individually moving foam nodes sit in the footbed and shift as the wearer walks, a mechanism Nike says transmits the feel of the ground and engages sensory regions in the brain, paired with a stretchy footbed, a perforated knit tongue, and a chrome Swoosh. FC Barcelona's Gavi has fronted the brand messaging around it: "Nike Mind connects my mind and body, helping me stay better focused."
Here is the part that actually tells you something about the brand strategy. As of mid-October, the shoe was reselling on StockX for close to double its retail price, with a three-month average near $215 and more than 400 resales in that window, on a shoe Nike has restocked roughly every two weeks since January. That is not what a genuine supply shortage looks like. That is a brand drip-feeding its own hit on purpose, because a shoe that sells out on schedule generates more free marketing than one that simply sits on shelves, and "neuroscience" is a far better cover story for scarcity than "we are rationing a mule."
